Preferences: Performance
Sets options that can speed up the performance of the system.

  Show me

Top   Settings for database folders
These options set how many events you see when you go into a database folder.

  Show all events
If selected, this will display every event in the folder. If you have hundreds of events in a folder, it may take several seconds for the list to appear.

Show the --- most recent events
If selected this will display the fifty (or whatever) most recent events, and then allow you to display another fifty when you reach the bottom of the list.

Show events over the last ---
If selected this will display events from the last 4 weeks (or whatever).
If there are are fewer events than the value selected in the Show the --- most recent events option, then the list will be filled until that value is reached. This means that if there were less than fifty events in the last month, you will see the fifty most recent events instead.

Top   Settings for pending trays
These options set how many events you see when you go into a pending tray folder.

Show all files, most recent first
If selected, this will display every file with the newest at the top of the list. Files are sorted according to the file date.

Show in blocks of --- alphabetically
If selected, this will display files in blocks of fifty (or whatever) in alphabetical order. This is much faster than showing all files in date order because the system does not have to read the date of each file.

Note The e-mail in-basket always shows all events.
